The "Controller Gateflow for Software-Defined Networks (SDN Controller)" software has been added to the Russian Software Register.
December 17, 2024, Moscow. The primary purpose of the SDN Controller Gateflow software is to manage software-defined data networks in which the control plane is separated from the data plane. The OpenFlow protocol is used for control. The controller is a highly reliable centralized control system. For ease of use, one of the system components is a graphical user interface.
Using the controller and the Openflow protocol allows for the creation of flexible traffic processing rules unavailable with traditional routing protocols. The network is managed centrally; network devices do not make decisions about processing network (Ethernet/IP) packets themselves, but follow instructions received from the controller.
The controller supports a REST API, which simplifies interaction with third-party systems and is used to automate network device management tasks.
The software-defined network controller is used to manage L2/L3 transport services (point-to-point and mesh services), to create and manage a software or hardware switching fabric, for example, to implement an Inline TAP packet broker switching fabric (here is a link to the solution).
Support for working with OpenSwitch allows for the implementation of work with the software switching subsystem of virtualization systems (including with a fabric, if the network architecture implements the operation of several topologically connected software switches), enables network segmentation between groups of virtual machines in data centers and cloud solutions. REST API support ensures easy integration with orchestration systems and integration into virtualization systems.
The Gateflow controller can be used in both corporate solutions and telecom operator projects, and is also suitable for information security tasks and cloud operator infrastructure.
